La Lucia mall watch store robbed

There have been no reported injuries and the suspects are still at large.

THREE men pulled off a brazen robbery at a watch store in La Lucia mall this morning. The men smashed several glass display counters and made off with more than 50 watches reported to be Tag Heuer watches. One of the men allegedly had a hammer which was used to smash the glass.

According to Vanessa Blevins, centre manager at the mall, the incident occurred just before 10am.

“Centre Management confirms that a robbery took place at Watches Unlimited. Thankfully no one was injured in the incident, we believe more than 50 watches were taken in the robbery,” she said.

It is unknown at this stage what the total value of merchandise stolen is.

A eye-witness, who did not want to be named, said he saw three men run out of the store.

“I ran after them trying to stop them, I couldn’t see if they were armed or not. They got into a white Daihatsu with NJ number plates and fled the scene.”
