uMhlanga cell phone shop robbed by armed men

The armed men held up a security guard who was patrolling the area and stole several items from the shop.

POLICE are looking for four armed men who are believed to be linked to the robbery of a cell phone repair shop in uMhlanga. The incident occurred on Zenith Drive earlier this morning, said Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS.

“The men held up a security guard who was patrolling the area at gunpoint. He was then ordered to lay on the floor. The suspects took his cellphone, a laptop and a flat screen TV from the shop. They also took other items from the shop before fleeing in a white Audi A6.

“We were able to trace the number plates and found that it belonged to a VW Polo that was stolen in Isipingo last month. Thankfully no one was injured in the armed robbery. We are looking for the suspects but no arrests have been made,” he said.
