R350 000 raised from Dads’ Charity Cycle

Funding from the event will be split between four charity organisations.

A WHOPPING R350 000 was raised in this year’s Dads’ For Charity Cycle Tour. This year’s event saw a group of dads, moms and friends ride a gruelling 668km ride from Johannesburg to Durban, all in the name of fundraising for a worthy cause.

Dads’ Charity chairman, Wayne Baker, said he was both privileged and honoured to join the team on the 12th annual tour.

“We have been supporting The Sunflower Fund for approximately 10 years and hope to continue to support this worthy cause for another 10 years. One of our main aims whilst we raise funds during the year and of course riding down and post riding is to continue to create the education, awareness and recruitment of donors needed,”he said.

Funding from the event will be split between The Sunflower Fund, Fulton School for the Deaf, the Gauteng Down Syndrome Association (DSAG), Qhubeka and CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation).
