Woman robbed on Glenashley beach

Durban North police are still looking for the suspect involved in Monday morning's robbery.

A WOMAN was robbed of her valuables by an armed mugger on The Promenade in Glenashley today. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, this was the second armed robbery in three days following an incident in uMhlanga.

“The woman arrived outside her home on The Promenade at about 1am this morning. She was approached by a man who was wearing a brown hooded jacket. He threatened her with a knife and stole her cell phone and handbag before running off. This was the second armed mugging in three days.

“On Friday night at about 8pm a woman was accosted by an armed suspect on Park Drive. The men cut the straps off the women’s handbag and fled with her iPhone5 and handbag. At this moment, we are not sure if the cases are linked, but we are still investigating,” he said.

No arrests have been made.
