Man robbed of R15 000 outside uMhlanga bank

The suspects used a silver Mercedes Benz in the armed robbery.

DURBAN North Police are searching for four suspects who are believed to be linked to the robbery of a businessman in uMhlanga Ridge. The men were allegedly armed with handguns, confirmed Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS. The incident occurred on Saturday at about 10.50am.

“The businessman was going to a bank in uMhlanga Ridge to deposit R15 000 in cash when a silver Mercedes Benz with four occupants pulled up alongside him. Two men, armed with handguns and wearing balaclavas jumped out and threatened the man. They grabbed the bag with R15 000 in cash before making a hasty getaway,” he said.

In May this year, a man was robbed of R108 000 outside a bank in Durban North.
