Gang implicated in another hijacking

A TRUCK driver was hijacked by a gang of armed men on Monday night at the corner of Mysore and Gumtree Road. This is the ninth hijacking in the Greenwood Park policing precinct in just over a month.

It is alleged that the driver was parked at the intersection when he was accosted by the suspects, one of whom wielded a gun. According to W/O Leon Audh, of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the hijackers forced the victim to start the truck before they pushed him out of the vehicle.

The suspects then fled in the Hyundai H100 truck.

In a previous incident the victim was hijacked and abducted. As the suspects dumped the man in KwaMashu they gave him R20 from his own wallet as ‘taxi fare’.
