72-year-old dies in N2 accident
The car collided with the embankment on the N2 just before Gateway.
A 72-YEAR-old man was killed in a crash on the N2 just before Gateway earlier today. According to Crisis Medical’s Neil Powell, the incident occurred shortly before 12pm.
“Paramedics responded to a call for a collision on the N2 and found a single vehicle had collided with the embankment. The 72-year-old driver was unresponsive. Advanced life support paramedics attended to the driver who sadly passed away prior to the arrival of paramedics.
“At this point it is unclear as to what caused the accident but it is suspected that the driver sustained a fatal heart attack while travelling along the freeway, before colliding with the embankment. All the necessary authorities were in attendance and will be investigating the incident further.
