A MAN escaped unscathed after he was hijacked and abducted from his home in Avoca on Wednesday night.
According to Kyle van Reenen, of Marshall Security, the man was accosted by an unknown number of armed suspects after he arrived at his home. It is believed that the hijackers forced him into the back of the vehicle before they fled the scene, he said.
“The victim was later dropped off by the suspects in KwaMashu, where he managed to make a call home to his wife for help,” added Van Reenen.
A special operations team along with the South African Police Services were dispatched to his location, where the man was retrieved and safely returned home. The hijacked vehicle was fitted with a tracking device and efforts to trace and retrieve it are underway, Van Reenen confirmed.
