Car crash baffles Durban North SAPS
Police found a high-end luxury car crashed into a property in La Lucia - the driver was nowhere to be found.
A CAR crash on William Campbell Drive has baffled Durban North SAPS after the driver of the vehicle absconded from the scene. According to Cpt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the wrecked vehicle, a high-end luxury car, was found crashed into a property in La Lucia.
“When officers arrived at the scene, the driver of the vehicle was nowhere to be found. The front of the Jeep was severely damaged and it had to be towed back to the station. We traced the registration of the vehicle and found the owner. He arrived at the station the next day saying he did not know who had taken or driven his car,” he said.
According to Deokaran, the driver was covered in cuts and bruises.
“We are investigating the matter further but we have opened a case of reckless and negligent driving.”
