THE city has sent out a statement warning motorists to avoid the M19. Metro Police have asked motorists who are travelling towards Pinetown to turn around and go back down Umgeni Road. Residents working outside the Durban North area heading west have been severely affected.
Protest action on North Coast Road is ongoing and police are again urging motorists to avoid the area. Several businesses have been looted and one car has been set alight in the service delivery protests.
Inanda Road between Sea Cow Lake and the N2 is still closed to traffic. A video has also surfaced, showing the line of burning tyres blocking North Coast Road.
