PROTEST action on North Coast Road is ongoing and police are again urging motorists to avoid the area. Inanda Road, between Sea Cow Lake and the N2, is still closed to traffic. Burning tyres currently block part of the road in what is believed to be a service delivery protest.
According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, protest action has been ongoing since 4am.
“The situation remains volatile. SAPS and Metro Police are on scene trying to diffuse the situation and the road remains blocked. Protesters have also burned a car,” he said.
