Police car and bakkie collide on North Coast Road

Two dogs, part of the K9 Unit, escaped injury in the accident.

TWO people have been injured during a collision between a police vehicle and a bakkie on North Coast Road (outside Bluff Meat Supply). The members, who were part of the K9 Unit, also had two dogs in the back of their car, but they miraculously escaped injury. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the vehicles collided in a T-bone fashion.

“The driver and the passenger of a company bakkie were injured in the accident. The occupants of the other vehicle escaped injury. The police are investigating the cause of the accident,” he said.

According to witnesses, one of the vehicles jumped a traffic light, which led to the collision.

On Saturday, a man was injured after he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree and a residential property on Swapo (Broadway) Road.
