Four-car collision leads to fire on N2

One person was critically injured and two others seriously injured in an accident on the N2.

THE N2 north-bound just before the uMhlanga off-ramp was closed late on Monday evening after a fiery crash between four vehicles. One of the vehicles, a VW Golf, burst into flames in the collision.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, one person was critically injured while two others were seriously injured.

“The driver of the VW Golf was critically injured and was ejected out of his vehicle on impact. Luckily there was no entrapments or fatalities. Fire-fighters managed to extinguish the blaze and the road was temporarily closed. It’s unclear what caused the accident,” he said.
