Duo chosen as Miss Junior SA finalists

Former Greenwood Park Primary pupils reach the finals of beauty pageant.

TWO local models are hoping to use their platforms to highlight the importance of charity work in the community. Greenwood Park resident, Christin Robson, and Redhill resident, Jamie de Bruine were recently chosen as finalists in the Miss Petit Teen SA and Miss Junior SA categories respectively.

“I wasn’t always a pageant queen, I’m an aspiring sports anchor and was always a bit of a tomboy if I’m honest,” explained Jamie. “One of my greatest passions though is giving back. I hope to use my platform as a finalist in the Miss Junior SA competition to highlight the importance of the Domino Babie’s Home and Westville Babies Home.

“There’s very little attention on the amazing work these non-profit organisations do and as much as I’ve learned about the two organisations, I hope I can raise more awareness about these charities,” she said.

Durban North College pupil, Christin, who is no stranger to pageants, said she too was using the competition to give back to the disadvantaged communities around Durban.

“I love helping the St Vincent de Paul Society and providing as much exposure as I can for them. I would love to win this competition but again use it to spread the word. Both Jamie and I have known each other for many years and we’re often asked if we are sisters at these competitions. We’ll be in each other’s corners supporting and cheering on,” Christin said.
