Truck ploughs into car driven by 25-year-old woman

The driver of a truck that ploughed into a car North Coast Road this morning was not found on the scene.

A 25-year-old woman was left seriously injured this morning at around 9.30am this morning after a truck T-boned her light motor vehicle on Chris Hani (North Coast) Road.

ER24 paramedics, along with various other services, arrived on the scene and found the car and truck lying on the side of the road.
Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said the truck had collided with the vehicle, dragging it through the intersection and finally smashing the vehicle through the roadside barrier.

“On assessment, paramedics found the female driver lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle in a serious condition.”

Rescue services used the jaws-of-life equipment to free the trapped woman from the vehicle.

Once freed, paramedics treated the woman and provided her with advanced life support intervention. She was thereafter transported to  Ethekweni Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the truck was apparently not found on scene. Local authorities will investigate further.
