‘The earth is flat’, claims Twitter celebs

Rapper, B.O.B turned to Twitter to share his controversial view regarding the planet, sparking a 'twar' with public and scientists alike.

AMERICAN rapper and celebrity B.O.B. shocked the world on Monday last week when he began posting a series of tweets questioning the curvature of the earth.

The ‘Airplanes’ artists began by challenging users to provide photos that would prove the curvature in the planet’s surface.

“The cities in the background are approx. 16miles apart… where is the curve? Please explain this,” he posted on Twitter.

When tweeps began pointing out to celebrity that the earth’s spherical nature was proven more than five centuries ago he began tweeting memes to prove his argument.

Eventually, American astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson, attempted to use science to reason with the rapper, tweeting, ”

@bobatl Earth’s curve indeed blocks 150 (not 170) ft of Manhattan. But most buildings in midtown are waaay taller than that.”

However, the singer didn’t accept any of the explanations and tweeted the next day, “Once you go flat, you never go back”. Surprisingly B.O.B. is not the only celebrity to have raised this argument. Earlier this month Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, known as Tila Tequila, made similar arguments.

The former MySpace and MTV reality television star also took to Twitter to argue that the earth was indeed flat.
@AngelTilaLove wrote “Why are all the buildings in NYC standing straight up? If earth was round then some of the buildings would have a slight tilt. #Flat Earth’.
