Man murdered in hijacking

The victim was shot and killed without warning.

A 67-YEAR-OLD man was shot and killed in cold blood during a violent hijacking on Thursday morning. The incident reportedly took place just after midnight on Temple Road in Kenville.

According to W/O Leon Audh of the Greenwood Park SAPS, the man was approached by two unknown males while he was seated in his vehicle.

One of the suspects shot the victim without warning, added Audh. He was shot point-blank in the chest. The suspects then dragged his body out of the vehicle and fled towards Smithfield Road.

The vehicle was recovered the same day in Mvubu Park off  Queen Nandi Drive.

“Fingerprints were taken and our members are confident that arrests will be made soon,” said Audh.
