Appreciating Emergency Services for all they do.

FOR Sunningdale resident, Tyron Powell, emergency services personnel are often under-appreciated and often unrecognized, but they often serve as the first step in saving a person’s life. Powell along with other security companies have formed the NPO the Law Enforcement Foundation which is aimed at raising funds for various crime prevention projects among the local community policing forums.

With that in mind, Marshall Security, Netcare 911 and a number of other local security companies are holding the Emergency Services Awareness Day on Saturday, 19 September at the Crusaders Sports Club on Ranleigh Crescent.

“I think people don’t realize the responsibility emergency service personnel actually have, be it the police, security companies or paramedics. This day is about appreciating what they do for us as well as highlighting the work they do.

“There will be mock hijacking scenarios as well as displays by the dog unit, the search and rescue unit as well as other surprises on the day. There will also be kids jumping castles and a flea market which makes the event a perfect day out for families in the area,” said the police reservist.
