Two pedestrians killed on North Coast Road
In the matter of two days two pedestrians were knocked and killed by vehicles on the busy road.
TWO pedestrians have been killed in two separate accidents on North Coast Road in the last two days.
The latest incident occurred at approximately 7am this morning. A man believed to be in his late fifties died after he was knocked by a vehicle on the busy road this morning.
According to Kyle van Reenen, of Crisis Medical, paramedics found the injured pedestrian lying fifteen meters from the accident scene.
“Unfortunately he had already succumbed to his extensive injuries and nothing could be done to assist him. He was declared dead on arrival,” he said.
The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, did not sustain any injuries.
On Friday morning a 23-year-old female was also killed in a hit and run accident on the same stretch of road, confirmed Van Reenen.
The local authorities were at the scenes and investigations are underway.
