Authorities race to save trapped puppies

Authorities are racing against the clock to save two puppies that are trapped in a storm water pipe in Avoca Hills.

THE ATMOSPHERE is tense as various organisations are frantically trying to save two puppies that have been trapped in a storm water pipe since  6.30pm last night.

Earlier the three-week-old pups could be heard howling desperately as the Zaca family, Marshall Security and the SPCA dug around the pipe to try to locate and rescue the little canines. But now, fears have escalated since the cries of the Dachshund puppies stopped no more than 10 minutes ago.

To make matters worse, the rescuers are also concerned that soil will collapse on top of the trapped pups.

Authorities at the scene are estimating that the pups are trapped at the far end of the three-metre pipe.

The puppies’ mother, Snoopy, is reportedly pacing back and forth as the drama unfolds.
