Less than two minutes was all it took for criminals to casually steal a woman’s bag from her boot after she thought she had locked it.

Shocking video footage of a remote jamming incident has gone viral. It shows how a Gauteng woman fell victim to remote jamming scamsters late last week. Numerous incidents of remote jamming have been reported to the Durban North and this video, that is less than two minutes, shows how easy it is for criminals for steal your valuables.

The one minute and 42 second video, that was captured at a garage in Johannesburg, shows the victim parking her vehicle before entering the shop. The suspects then drive into the garage and park next to the victim’s car. A well-dressed man jumps out of the vehicle and walks around before casually opening the boot of the victim’s car. He then steals her bag, jumps into the getaway vehicle and they drive off. The victim aired her frustration on Facebook and urged other motorists to be cautious.

Durban North SAPS spokesman, Lt Raymond Deokaran recently said that there had been a spike in car jamming incidents in the area. Deokaran said police believed that a syndicate may been operating in the area. He said the increase in car jamming incidents also indicated that criminals were not only targeting shopping malls, but garages in the Durban North area.
