Woman killed in N2 shootout
Police are investigating a shootout that occurred on the N2 earlier today.
A woman was killed this morning in a shooting incident on the N2 near Queen Nandi Drive, while her husband is fighting for his life. According to Netcare 911 media liaison, Chris Botha, exact details about the cause of the shooting or preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the woman had tragically died before their arrival. “Her husband had sustained life threatening injuries and was in the vehicle,” said Botha. Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the man on scene and after he was placed on a ventilator and deftly immobilised on a trauma board they airlifted him to a Durban hospital for the critical care that he required.
