Water crisis: uMhlanga water towers run dry
Use water sparingly says local councillor Heinz de Boer.
NORTHGLEN News is getting unconfirmed reports that the water towers serving the Durban North area have run dry. Sunningdale is currently without water and other areas may be affected.
According to the municipality, water is currently being diverted to pump into the towers to restore some of the water supply. As a result, residents in the northern suburbs may be without water within the next few hours.
Local ward councillor Heinz de Boer said he was still trying to confirm reports but urged residents to use water sparingly.
“At the moment I’m not sure how severe the problem is but I ask residents to use water sparingly. I’m currently working with the municipality to confirm the reports,” he said.
