One killed, another critically injured in La Lucia hit and run

One woman was killed and another was critically injured when they were hit by a car in La Lucia on Thursday evening.

A WOMAN was killed and another was critically injured when they were hit by a car in Armstrong Avenue on Thursday evening.

It has been reported that a motorist, who was driving without his lights on, hit the two women who were crossing the road to go to a shop.

Ward councillor, Heinz de Boer, said the driver of the car sped off without stopping to assist the women or contact an ambulance.

He said although speed bumps can not be installed in the road, eThekwini Municipality is undertaking to repair the street lights, that have had its cables stolen on numerous occasions.

The attending paramedic’s company, Crisis Medical, could not be immediately reached for more details and comment on the incident.
