‘Deliver poo at Umhlanga at Bheki Cele’s house’

There's been a call to dump faeces on the uMhlanga lawn of former police commissioner.

ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member and former police commissioner, Bheki Cele, has denied inciting poo protestors to expand their service delivery protest to rich Cape Town suburbs.

His comments have now started a furore on Twitter with many people calling for poo to be dumped on his uMhlanga home’s lawn. One of the users Ludo Gideon, said “I personally think people of KZN must deliver poo at Umhlanga at Bheki Cele’s house. He must get the taste of what he is advocating 4 in C.T.”

Another Twitter user, Jacques Smith, who describes himself as a copywriter at the DA, said “When Bheki Cele encourages poo dumping in suburbs where people don’t experience portaloos I assume this includes his hoity toity Umhlanga.”

Even DA leader, Helen Zille tweeted “Bheki Cele tells CT to throw poo in white areas.”

It was reported that Cele made the controversial statement while addressing a rally in Phillipi settlement on the Cape Flats.

Speaking to the Northglen News Cele said the media had twisted what he said and his comments were highlighting the problem of service delivery in the cape.

“I didn’t call for any faeces to be dumped on people’s lawns. I said porta potty communities must give a taste to those who don’t use them,” he said. “I’ll let the police decide what course of action to take should anyone attempt dumping faeces on my lawn.”
