Whoonga addicted youth move north

Should the city have tried to rehabilitate the whoonga addicted youth?

JUST weeks after city officials forcibly removed hundreds of vagrants and drug addicted teenagers from the notorious Whoonga Park, the problem has moved north. We were shocked when we went on a raid to Riverside Road and saw just how bad the problem was.

Journalist Shiraz Habbib commented that he had never seen so many condom packets in one place. Riverside Road is a prostitute’s haven and has been for many years. But with the movement of the addicts from Albert Park, police are concerned that an already bad situation can quickly get a lot worse.

The question now is should the city have removed the addicts or rather set about rehabilitating them? They addicted to a drug that’s been described as one of the “cruelest” made up of detergent powder, rat poison and crushed antiretroviral drugs distributed free to HIV sufferers
