Pedestrian left trouserless after mugging

Suspects hold up pedestrian on Twilight Drive, demand valuables and bizzarely, his jeans.

A PEDESTRIAN was left trouserless after he was robbed by three men armed with a knife on Twighlight Drive recently. According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North Police Station, this is the fifth incident in recent weeks where criminals have targeted pedestrians.

“The incident occurred at about midnight and the victim remembers seeing a large group of people pass him. Three of the men from the group then followed him and held him up with a knife and took his phone, cash and the jeans he was wearing,” he said.

In the second incident, a woman was robbed of her cellphone by men pretending to ask for directions. “The men asked her to help them and as she got closer to the passenger window, one of the suspects grabbed her phone before fleeing in a white sedan,” he explained.

Last week another pedestrian was robbed of her handbag on the M4 while a mother and daughter were robbed of their belongings on Canterbury Crescent, a week earlier.
