Fatima girls shine in IEB exams

Our Lady of Fatima School congratulated the matric class of 2013 on their 100 per cent pass rate.

OUR Lady of Fatima School matriculants, Diana Melis and Michaela Geytenbeek, have done their former school proud by getting 17 A’s between the two of them in the recent IEB exams.

Diana’s results (nine A’s) are also among the top five per cent in the country, having also made the top one per cent nationally for life sciences, English and history.

Michaela also made the top one per cent nationally with her math results and received eight A’s (English, Afrikaans, history, life orientation, life sciences, maths, maths pp3 and physics) and one B for advanced programming maths.

“These two girls have done exceptionally well. But not only did they do well, the entire class of 2013 did a great job,” said Audrey Jones, former principal (now teacher) at Our Lady of Fatima School.

“Diana certainly beat records this year. Other girls have made the top five per cent for their overall results and top one per cent for subjects before, but Diana broke records having made the top one per cent in the country for three subjects,” she added.

Audrey said she was also extremely proud that Michaela made the top one per cent nationally for maths. “All your Grade 12 girls worked very hard. The IEB syllabus has a very demanding standard and I’m sure our class of 2013 will maintain this standard in university,” she said.

Our Lady of Fatima School congratulated the 2013 matrics on their 100 per cent pass rate, with 46 Bachelor Degrees and 1 Degree pass.
