Cruel to leave pets to sweat in cars

A little, very old brown Daschund dog left in a Blue Atos with one back window open about three inches. What is this person thinking?

EDITOR – I have just returned from the Hyper By the Sea Durban North having witnessed the most horrendous situation.

A little, very old brown Daschund dog left in a Blue Atos with one back window open about three inches.

What is this person thinking?

I then, after being told by the car guard it was an old man who had left him more than an hour ago, went inside the Hyper and the Info Desk kindly paiged him, several times, reading his registration out and saying it was extremely urgent. Nothing!

A lady that had parked next to him said she had also suggested it was far too hot to leave the dog in the car. The man replied the dog was 20 years old and had a fan on him. No the dog didn’t. We checked. We reported this to the SPCA who were on their way when he casually made an appearance.

This little dog was left in this vehicle for close to three hours! This is cruelty to animals and could lead to a horrendous death. Pet owners should know better. Please report cruelty of any kind to the SPCA.
