Rosehill Primary School staff give back to local NPO

All the food items donated will be given to families in need at the Malacca Road Informal Settlement.

STAFF at Rosehill Primary School recently donated a number of items to local non-profit organisation (NPO) The Seed Fund.

At a special assembly last week, principal of the school Kerri Pfeil, alongside staff and learners, handed over the items to coincide with Mandela Month.

The Seed Fund founder, Arianne Hayes-Hill, who started the NPO as a way to help uplift the community of the Malacca Road Informal Settlement, said she was blown away by the generosity of the school.

“We have a wonderful relationship with the school as seven learners from the Malacca Road community attend this school. Because of that, we’ve formed a wonderful partnership with Rosehill Primary School and Mrs Pfeil. All the items that were donated will be distributed to families within the community that are in need. We are so blown away by the generosity of the staff, and it’s heartwarming to see the love shown for the work we do,” she said.

“This was the second collection of the year hosted for the NPO, and it certainly won’t be the last one,” explained Principal Kerri Pfeil.

“Whenever we can, or whenever we do give back, we give to The Seed Fund. I’m a strong believer that charity begins at home, and I’m proud of my staff who gave back this way because this will surely make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We hosted a similar collection on Valentine’s Day this year, and there is no doubt we will host another fundraiser soon,” she said.
