Mount Edgecombe resident and organiser of the event, Roger Deare, said the spectacle was about bringing aerobatics to a new audience.

“It was a fantastic spectacle for the fans and those new to the sport. Spectators had prime views with Virginia Airport being the central arena,” he said.

Deare added that the pilots’ technical manoeuvres were analysed by a panel of Sport Aerobatic Club of South Africa judges.

The event was also internationally recognised by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) in affiliation with the Sport Aerobatic Club of South Africa.
