According to Sanveer Sooklall, spokesperson for Swift Private Security, the first home invasion took place on Workington Road in Greenwood Park at about midday.

“According to the homeowner, while he was engaged in an online meeting, an intruder entered his residence through a window,” said Sooklall.

A scuffle then ensued between the homeowner and the intruder, resulting in injuries to the homeowner’s arm.

The suspect fled the scene with a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

While officers were still at the scene, they were alerted to another home invasion on Julian Road in Avoca.

“According to a resident, four suspects scaled the wall of the property and held up the residents at gunpoint. They were also assaulted. The suspects left with two laptops,” said Sooklall.

The suspects reportedly arrived in a grey unidentified SUV.

Greenwood Park SAPS also attended both scenes.
