Vehicle stolen in Umgeni Park recovered

The vehicle was found abandoned in Avoca Hills less than an hour after being stolen.

A VEHICLE-TRACKING company, along with Marshall Security and the Umlazi K9 Unit, helped recover a vehicle that had been stolen from a business park in Umgeni Park on Tuesday.

The Ford Ranger was stolen at about 11:25 from the premises on Teakfield Road.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, Matrix Tracking, along with the company’s Special Operations Team, was called in to assist in locating the vehicle.

“Within 10 minutes of being dispatched, the stolen vehicle was found abandoned and recovered by our Special Ops Team, together with the assistance of the Matrix ground team and the Umlazi K9 Unit, in the Avoca Hills area. The owner of the vehicle was notified accordingly and did not wish to open a case with the SAPS.

“The vehicle was handed back over to the owner. In a separate incident that took place last Friday, at approximately 16:20, members of our Special Ops Team were activated to assist Netstar with locating a white Isuzu that had been hijacked in the KwaMashu area by an unknown number of armed suspects. The vehicle was found abandoned on Umbango Road,” he said.
