Suspects nabbed after Durban North mugging

One of the suspects was found with a knife in his possession.

TWO suspects involved in an armed mugging of a pedestrian in Durban North were arrested on Monday morning, December 26.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the incident occurred on Chelsea Drive just before 08:30.

“Our officer noticed a woman crying on Chelsea Drive and approached her. She revealed she had just been robbed by two suspects who forcefully snatched her purse from her, which contained cash and bank cards, and then fled from the scene on foot.”

“After gathering information, the suspects were spotted walking on Brooklands Crescent where they were apprehended. Upon searching the suspects, the victim’s purse, as well as a knife, were found in their possession,” he said.

A case of common robbery was opened at the Durban North police station.
