Four alleged hitmen arrested in uMhlanga
Police also recovered a rifle, two pistols and 94 rounds of ammunition.
FOUR suspects wanted in connection with an attempted murder case were arrested on Thursday in a home on Cordia Crescent, uMhlanga.
A joint operation involving the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), the Cross Border Unit and KwaZulu-Natal Stabilisation Team saw the arrest of the suspects aged between 25 and 31.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said officers recovered a rifle, two pistols and 94 rounds of ammunition.

“A vehicle, which is suspected to have been used in the commission of a crime, was seized. The suspects were detained at the Durban North police station and are due to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
“The suspects were wanted for a case that took place on October 5, 2022, at Bhamshela in Nsuze. It is alleged that a 41-year-old man was driving his vehicle when unknown suspects opened fire, wounding him in both his legs. He managed to flee the scene and reported the matter to the police,” Gwala said.
A case of attempted murder was opened and an intelligence-driven operation led police to the home in uMhlanga.
The suspects will appear in the Maphumulo Magistrate’s Court soon for attempted murder.
