Stolen vehicle found abandoned in Effingham Heights

The security company attended to two incidents in Effingham Heights over the weekend.

A VEHICLE, abandoned outside a resident’s house in Effingham Heights, is suspected to have been stolen.
Sanveer Sooklall, spokesperson for Swift Private Security, said they received information about the vehicle on Saturday morning.
“Upon arrival at the scene, it was established that the GWM bakkie was stolen from another resident’s property on Belmont Road and was abandoned a few doors away,” he said.
He said the resident will be registering a case with Greenwood Park SAPS.
In a separate incident on Friday night, Swift Private Security received messages about an attempted theft of a vehicle on Desai Crescent, Effingham Heights.
“We immediately responded but could not find the suspects,” said Sooklall.
According to Sooklall, three suspects arrived in a white vehicle with no registration and attempted to steal a white Kia bakkie, but they were disturbed by the owner of the vehicle.
“The suspects immediately fled the scene. Swift Private Security will continue to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Greenwood Park SAPS attended the scene,” he added.
