Double celebration for La Lucia antiques fair

First, there will be the La Lucia Mall Antiques and Collectables Fair, which celebrates its 19th anniversary, and second, there will be Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

THIS weekend, there will be two celebrations worth commemorating for Durban North resident Sandy Day.

Day, the organiser of the fair, said there will be a number of items on sale, including wooden Royal Guard statues, miniature royal stage coaches, as well as vintage jewellery and other memorabilia.

“It is hard to imagine, but the antiques fair has been going for 19 years now. We held our first-ever in June 2003, and over the years, it has been a pride and joy for both my husband Buddy and I. We feel blessed to celebrate this milestone with our loyal supporters and the mall.

“As royalists, we also felt it fitting that our anniversary would coincide with The Queen’s jubilee celebrations. We do have a number of royal memorabilia items that will be on sale, alongside items that are normally on sale. I encourage residents to come down on Sunday, June 5 to celebrate with us,” she said.
