Suspect found with stolen items arrested in Durban North

Several items believed to be stolen were found wrapped in black plastic bags.

A SUSPECT, who was allegedly in possession of stolen items, was arrested on Beachway on Wednesday morning at about 07:35.

According to Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell, members were on patrol due to a recent increase of housebreakings in the area.

“Our Special Operations Team noticed the suspect walking on Beachway. After noticing our members on patrol, he tried to avoid us by walking in the opposite direction but was soon apprehended on Mackeurtan Avenue.

“After searching the bags that were in his possession, several items including a PlayStation console was found. The suspect could not provide a valid explanation as to how he was in possession of the items,” Powell said.

The suspect will be charged for being in possession of suspected stolen items.
