Homeowner stabbed in Kenville robbery

The suspects made off with the homeowner's cellphone, firearm and TV in the armed robbery.

A KENVILLE resident was stabbed in an armed robbery on Saturday evening (12 March).

The incident occurred on The Knoll just after 18:50 confirmed provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala.

“It is alleged that the 54-year-old homeowner was at his place of residence at Kenville when he was attacked by unknown suspects. At knife point they stabbed him in the thigh and robbed him of his cellphone, firearm and TV before fleeing the scene on foot,” Gwala said.

She added that charges of house robbery and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm were opened at the Greenwood Park police station for investigation.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, said paramedics responded to the robbery scene.

“The man was treated and stabilized on scene by Emergency Care Practitioners before being taken to a nearby hospital in a stable condition,” van Reenen said.
