GALLERY: Durban North charity event a knockout success

The amateur fight night was organised by Knuckle Game Boxing Academy.

A WHOPPING R61 220 was raised for non-profit organisation (NPO), House of Love and Hope (HOLAH) Baby Home at a fight night in Durban North last week.

The amateur fight night was organised by Knuckle Game Boxing Academy and owner of the academy and coach, Trevor Wolmarans, said he was blown away by the support and love shown by the community.

“The vibe and the excitement was just awesome. Everyone pulled together for HOLAH which was awesome. We really wanted to make this an evening of promoting boxing but also giving back. To be honest I had no idea how much we would be able to raise so to surpass R60 000 was phenomenal,” he said.

The event was held at Crusaders Sports Club and Kim Brown from HOLAH said she too was overwhelmed by the support.

“All thanks needs to go to Trevor and Knuckle Game. They were incredible. We were excited to be a part of the event and the fact that Trevor and his team chose us is amazing. As a NPO, we are always struggling to raise the funds ourselves, so when an organisation reaches out and says they’ll do it for you, it’s a huge relief. The fact that they raised so much is phenomenal. We would also like to thank the community and all those who supported the event,” she said.
