Northwood School to host vaccine clinic

The vaccination clinic is run by Durban North Pharmacy.

WHILE the country has seen a gradual decrease in Covid-19 infections cases, public health officials have urged citizens to vaccinate.

According to the Department of Health statistics, the youth (18 to 34 years) are the least vaccinated population against Covid-19 in the country. A little over 5 million people out of 17.7 million target population have received their jabs.

With this in mind, Durban North Pharmacy manager, Nadia Khan has encouraged residents to take part in their upcoming vaccination drive at Northwood School.

The drive takes place on Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 to 14:00 at the school.

“The drive is open to anyone. That includes those needing their first Pfizer dose, second Pfizer dose or booster shot. If you can vaccinate and do not take up the opportunity to do so, you are putting everyone at risk. We urge those who have been vaccinated at least once to carry their vaccine cards and documents,” Khan said.

The pharmacy is also one of the sites in the Durban North area where residents can get their Pfizer vaccinations.

Khan added the emergence of the highly transmissible Omicron variant now made it necessary for residents to protect themselves and others.
