Stolen Durban North vehicle found stripped

Several security agencies were involved in the recovery of the vehicle.

IT took only a few hours to completely strip a VW Polo, after it was stolen from Romsey Avenue in Durban North on Wednesday, February 2.

The stolen vehicle was recovered at a chop shop in the Amatikwa area a short while later.  

Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell said Tracker had alerted the special operations team to assist in finding the stolen vehicle.

“After a few hours of extensive tracking, the vehicle was found abandoned at a chop shop in the Amatikwe area, completely stripped,” said Powell.

  He said just the shell remained intact and the other components had been dismantled.

“The theft occurred somewhere between 15:00 and 16:30. Members of our Special Operations Team, Tracker SA, SAPS, and other private security companies located the vehicle at approximately 21:00,” he added.

SAPS is investigating.
