Officers recover vehicles stolen from Greenwood Park, uMhlanga

When the suspects noticed they were being followed by security officers, they immediately increased their speed.

TWO stolen vehicles, one from uMhlanga and another from Greenwood Park, were recovered by Marshall Security officers in Phoenix on Tuesday night.

The dispatch centre circulated the details of the stolen VW Polo and the security company’s officers wasted no time to track it down.

“The search went on for two hours and eventually lead officers to Eastbury in Phoenix were another stolen vehicle, a Ford Ranger, was discovered,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell. “Both vehicles were travelling at high speed, driving contra flow on Eastbury Drive, nearly causing an accident,” he added.

A short while later, the VW Polo was stopped and the driver was arrested.

The driver of the bakkie fled into a dense bush after crashing into a kerb.

The scene was handed over to SAPS and the Phoenix Trio Crime Unit. It was established that the Ford Ranger was stolen from Greenwood Park on November 9.
