Dischem to administer Pfizer vaccine

Dischem aims to vaccinate 800 000 people in a month, provided that government has stock.

RETAIL pharmacy giant, Dischem, has announced that it will administer the Pfizer vaccine from 24 May.

The vaccine will be administered at 11 out of 32 vaccination centres which Dischem has secured in critical locations all over South Africa.

More than 3 000 Covid-19 vaccination sites registered

Dischem has negotiated with landlords, where Dischem stores are situated, to rent out space which will be turned into vaccination sites.

The company said it has the capacity to administer 600 vaccines at the sites daily and 50 at in-store clinics.

Their target is to vaccinate 800 000 people in a month, provided that government has stock ready.

A R70 administration fee will be charged to medical aids and government. Recipients will not be charged out of pocket.
