Police appeal for help in finding missing Somerset Park resident

Pranesh Maharaj was last seen leaving his Somerset Park home to visit a local service station on Sunday, 7 February.

DURBAN North SAPS are asking for help from the public to find 47-year-old Pranesh Maharaj who has been missing since Sunday, 7 February.

According to Captain Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the station, Maharaj was last seen leaving his Somerset Park home to visit a local service station.

“Maharaj was driving a white Hyundai i10 with the number plate NUR 25526 when he left his home on 7 February. He was last seen wearing black chino pants and a dark blue long-sleeved t-shirt. He is of slender build and about 1.74 metres tall. We are appealing to anyone with information to contact Detective Cliffy Swartz on 064 381 7949,” Deokaran said.

His sister, Neeleka Maharaj said she is deeply concerned for her brother’s safety.

“The last time a signal was picked up from the tracking device on the vehicle was in uMhlanga on the day he didn’t return home. I’ve been in contact with other family members but no one has seen or heard from him. We are all deeply concerned for him and I’m worried that something is seriously wrong,” she said.
