Water floods Glen Anil Street after pipe bursts

The water outage in Glenashley has since been resolved.

A SUBSTANTIAL burst water pipe on Glen Anil Street has left pools of water on the road.

This adds to a widespread water outage which affected parts of Virginia and Glenashley, said Ward 35 councillor, Nicole Bollman

While the water outage on Glen Anil Street falls under Ward 110, Bollman has stepped in to update residents as a new Ward 110 councillor has not yet been elected.

“The water department are on the site. Plumbers are in the process of closing valves which will affect homes in the area. Plumbers have isolated the site. Excavation and repairs are in progress,” said Bollman.

“The water outage in Glenashley has been resolved. Residents have responded saying water supply is back,” she said.

“The burst was situated on the traffic circle near the Blessed Sacrament Church,” said Bollman.

The eThekwini Municipality did not send their comment at the time this article was published.
