Durban North SAPS station temporarily closed due to Covid-19 case

This is the sixth time, since the Covid-19 pandemic started, that the station has been closed due to a positive case.

THE Durban North Police Station has been temporarily closed after an officer from the station allegedly tested positive for Covid-19.

As a precaution, the station has been closed for deep cleaning and is currently operating from the uMhlanga SAPS satellite station on 1 Autumn Drive (Prestondale).

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the SAPS, said the station will be closed until further notice.

“The community service centre will operate from uMhlanga satellite station. The Durban North station on Norrie Crescent will be decontaminated and will be closed on Thursday, 7 January. Once the deep cleanse is complete and its safe for us to resume duties we will return to the main station,” he said.
