Man killed in M41 accident

The accident occurred on the M41 near the Millennium Bridge (uMhlanga).

A MAN, believed to be in his 30s, was killed following an accident on the M41 near the Millennium Bridge (uMhlanga) on Tuesday afternoon.

Garrith Jamieson, an advanced life support paramedic said it was unclear what led to the accident.

“The horrific single vehicle accident occurred just after 3.30pm. The vehicle left the roadway before crashing into an overhead street sign. Paramedics from KZN VIP Medical arrived on scene and found the single occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, severely entrapped.

“There was no signs of life. Paramedics then extricated the body before declaring the driver deceased. At this stage, the events leading to the accident are unknown and Durban North police were on scene and will be investigating further,” he said.
