Durban North SAPS station temporarily closed due to Covid-19 case

Members of the public have been urged to visit the uMhlanga SAPS satellite station on Autumn Drive to report crime.

THE Durban North Police Station has been temporarily closed after an officer from the station allegedly tested positive for Covid-19.

As a precaution the station has been closed for deep cleaning and is currently operating from the uMhlanga SAPS satellite station on 1 Autumn Drive (Prestondale).

Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesperson for the SAPS said the station will be closed until further notice.

“The station will be decontiminated on Monday and will only reopen on Wednesday, 15 December or after decontamination is complete and its safe for us to resume duties. Our charge office will be operating from uMhlanga satellite station until further notice,” he said.

Deokaran added that for the time being, the station would not be able to help with gun related queries and finger print clearance certificates.
