Mother stabbed while fleeing attacker on N2 with daughter

The mother and daughter were stuck in their vehicle, which broke down on the side of the road, when the suspect approached them.

A MOTHER was stabbed and robbed of her handbag on the N2 highway while fleeing with her daughter from an attacker on Thursday afternoon.

This according to PT Alarms spokesperson, Trishen Govender who said their Tactical K9 unit and PT Ambulance Service rushed to the scene near the EB Cloete interchange.
“PT Tactical K9 unit stopped to assist and PT Ambulance treated one female who was stabbed and robbed. It is alleged that the woman’s vehicle broke down on the side of the road. A man walking past approached the vehicle and tried breaking the glass. The woman and her daughter jumped out of the vehicle while the suspect chased her. The suspect stabbed her on her left hand and stole her handbag,” he said.

Govender has urged motorists to be vigilant in the area.

“Female motorists are urged to be extra cautious when stopping or during a break down. Please lock doors and reel windows up. Alert your towing service and family member immediately of your location,” he said.
